These Terms govern how you access, schedule, and share Remnant captures. They are designed to protect ownership of your scans while creating a respectful environment for memory exploration.

Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to request a Remnant capture.

  • If the space being captured is not owned by you, you are responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions prior to the session.

  • Remnant may decline service if required permissions cannot be verified.

Access & Delivery

  • Remnant does not require user accounts at this time.

  • Completed captures are delivered via secure private links or downloadable files sent directly to the client’s provided email address.

  • Clients are responsible for safeguarding access links and shared files.

Ownership of Captures

  • All captured data and final deliverables belong to the client once payment is complete.

  • Remnant retains no ownership rights over completed captures.

  • Remnant will never distribute, publish, or showcase a capture without explicit written permission from the client.


Right to refuse service

Remnant reserves the right to decline or discontinue service if conditions pose safety, legal, or ethical concerns.

This includes but is not limited to:

• Unsafe or inaccessible environments

• Misrepresentation of ownership or permission

• Requests that violate applicable laws

• Interference with capture equipment or personnel

Data storage & inactivity

  • Remnant stores capture data only for the purpose of processing and delivery.

  • Once delivery is confirmed, long-term storage is not guaranteed unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Clients are encouraged to download and back up delivered files promptly.

  • Remnant may retain temporary backups for quality assurance or legal compliance.


Payments, deposits & refunds

Deposits

  • A non-refundable deposit confirms each scan appointment.

  • Deposits are $200 for small jobs and $400 for large jobs, applied to the capture cost.

Cancellations

  • Cancellations ≥48 hours before the scan receive full refunds, deposit included.

  • Cancellations <48 hours forfeit the deposit.

Refunds after service

  • Refunds may be issued if significant issues arise with the scan results.

  • A Remnant technician reviews each request and determines any refund percentage.

  • Refunds will not exceed 80% of the total capture price (excluding the deposit).

  • Approved customers may request the raw .ply file in addition to or instead of a refund.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:


  • Use the Services for unlawful purposes.

  • Reverse engineer, disrupt, or misuse the platform.

  • Upload or distribute harmful, offensive, or infringing content.

Limitation of liability

  • Remnant is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of delivered captures.

  • Remnant’s total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the capture service.


Modifications

Remnant may update these Terms periodically. The latest version will be posted here with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Services indicates acceptance.

  • Customers may opt in to feature their scans in the Remnant Showcase.

  • Hard-stored memories require direct contact with Remnant to retrieve.

  • Remnant may delete data if required by law, for technical needs, or extended inactivity.
